DOE will also evaluate the impact on manufacturers and will employ an industry-specific cash flow model modified to fit this particular product to estimate manufacturing NPV. Finally, DOE will consider the potential impact on small business manufacturers and other manufacturer subgroups to identify any that could be disproportionately affected by these proposals.
In addition, DOE will consider whether the test procedures for microwave ovens must be revised to include active mode energy use and a possible integrated microwave active mode energy use metric. Currently, the test protocols only address standby mode power use.
